PROJECTS

Reihenweise - the Project

The Reihenweise project comprises a publication, a festival and online content that provides inspiration for organising literature digitally, offers tangible help with implementation and invites people to think about what digital literature events could be in the future.

Reihenweise - the Publication

The publication "Reihenweise. Veranstalten in der Freien Literaturszene" (edition mosaik, 2022) attempts to provide an overview of the diversity of the independent literary scene, sheds light on an underestimated cultural sector full of committed autodidacts and idealists, shows that unusual literary formats can be successful and how important they are for the literary scene in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Reihenweise - the Festival

The festival "Reihenweise - Veranstalten in der Freien Literaturszene" offered insights into the work of independent event organisers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland with nine events in seven cities in autumn 2022.

The events taking place in Germany as part of this international week of action were funded by "Neustart Literatur", a programme of the German Literature Fund as part of "Neustart Kultur", and by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts.

ULF – Das Unabhängige Lesereihen Festival

The international ULF Festival took place in Nuremberg from September 12 to 15 in 2019. The festival centre was the Z-Bau, with events also taking place in the most beautiful bookshops and venues in the old town. ULF was the first major joint project of the Unabhängige Lesereiehen e.V., bringing together all participating reading series from Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the first time.

GASTSPIELE DIGITAL

The "Gastspiele digital" section brings together online formats and concepts from independent reading series: readings, talks and discussions with numerous authors; conceived, curated and translated into virtual space by the individual reading series. You will regularly find new videos of changing reading series from German-speaking countries here.
